Here Is Your Life
Jan Troell's feature film debut Here Is Your Life from 1966 is based on Eyvind Johnson's novels Romanen om Olof, depicting a 14-year-old boy with a thirst for knowledge, whose philosophy of life is shaped by his experiences from various works such as a shipper, sawmill worker, poster sticker, etc. during the First World War. According to Bonnier's great film guide, Troell's masterpiece story has “both epic magnificence and conciseness and authenticity". Eddie Axberg plays the role of Olof and in other roles, we see Allan Edwall, Gunnar Björnstrand, Ulf Palme, Gudrun Brost and Max von Sydow. Jan Troell won a Guldbagge award for Best Direction with this movie.
