The schoolmaster games
At St Sebastian's Academy for men where homosexuality is the norm, both the teaching and the social life revolve around male sexuality. The strict master's secret relationship with the student Charles is brought to a head when the master's traumatic and homophobic memories come to mind. While relationships and conflicts in the academy are going on, the students are also competing for a place in the annual singing procession. In The Magister Games, which is based on Kristofer Folkhammar's novel of the same name, power plays, hierarchies in school environments and male sexuality are at the center.
