After Atli is caught cheating his wife throws him out and doesn’t let him see their daughter anymore. Atli moves in with his parents temporarily and becomes involved in a dispute between them and their neighbors. A large, old tree shadows the neighbor’s lot but Atli’s parents do not want to take it down. What starts out as a simple dispute soon develops into a violent conflict beyond control where property gets destroyed, pets disappear, and surveillance cameras are installed. Under the tree was the big winner of the Edda awards in 2018 where it received seven awards and was nominated for another four.
