An improperly mounted sewage pipe acts as the starting point in the quarrel between the Palestinian building officer Yasser and the Christian Lebanese car mechanic Toni. The feud quickly escalated from verbal assaults to pure violence and soon the two parties find themselves in a public trial. The trial forces both Yasser and Toni to deal with their own prejudice. Jan Söderqvist writes in SvD that director Ziad Doueiris "(...) puts a finger on the infernally tangled situation in Lebanon”. Mats Gustafsson Hedenström highlights the topicality of the film in Kulturarbetaren: "Brilliant acting, dense and dramatic with a story that brings the whole Middle East issue to a down-to-earth level”. The film was nominated for an Oscar in the category best foreign language film.
