A young girl goes missing and it sends shockwaves through this little town in the Illinois countryside. After this traumatic event secrets are revealed that destroy some relationships while they strengthen others. The three girls Charlotte, Laurel and Joanna become closer in the events following the tragedy. Since an accident seldom comes alone, the second year of school is eventful, in this ethnically mixed community. Everyone is forced to grow up fast to handle the mysteries and complications in their lives.
