After his mother's death and divorcing his wife, Detective Jim Arnaud (Jim Cummings), whose main role model is John Wayne, is trying to pick up the pieces of his life. His daughter Chrystal (Kendal Farr) lives with him three days a week, but he lacks the ability to connect with her. Her school tells him that she is acting out, but he cannot understand that. But one day he can't keep up his macho facade anymore and collapses in the police station parking lot. Thunder Road is a black, humorous indie drama based on the award-winning short film made by director and lead actor Jim Cummings in 2016. It has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.
