In this two-hour insight into the teachings, history and methods of the Church of Scientology, we meet former members from the innermost circle and hear their stories about the organization that has attracted tens of thousands of people and many famous Hollywood celebrities since the founding by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950s. The documentary is based on journalist and author Lawrence Wright’s book of the same name, and he was also involved in the making of the film. Going Clear was awarded three Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Documentary in 2015.
