The British filmmaker Louis Theroux has a long list of revealing, moving and funny documentary films on his résumé. This time he takes on the church of Scientology. After being denied interviews with members and leaders of the cult, he gets the idea of recruiting actors to recreate situations as reported by former members. But when the church gets word of what is going on, they do everything they can to stop the project.
