The Good Lie

11 yrs 105 minutes 2014 7.4

During the 80’s Civil War in Sudan, many people fled the country and eventually ended up in refugee camps in Kenya. The good lie is about four of those people, who after many years got the chance to start a new life in the United States. Carrie Davies (Reese Witherspoon) is a stressed-out employment officer and is assigned the task to integrate the four siblings into the American society. She is initially unaware of their background and wants to get the job done as quick and painless as possible, but as she gets to know these lost, yet hopeful young men, she can’t help to get deeply involved in their lives. “A movie with the heart at the right place. Strong, moving and violent” Jan-Olov Andersson writes in Aftonbladet.
