Kis uykusu is the acclaimed Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylans' drama about the former actor Aydin and his young wife Nihal. They run a hotel in Cappadocia in central Turkey, a volcanic landscape where people have dug out their homes right out of the mountain since ancient times. The off season is approaching, and in the winter snow, the hotel becomes a claustrophobic prison where the cracks in a relationship can grow wide and deep. Kis uykusu was awarded the Palme d'Or and the Critics prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014.
