Stockholm Stories

7 yrs 93 minutes 2013 6.1

In Stockholm stories, freely based on Jonas Karlsson’s collection of short stories Det andra målet, we follow five lonely people who are looking for love and restoration. It’s the lonely, effective professional woman Jessica, whose life dream of adopting a child is shattered when her application is rejected with the motivation: Inadequate social network. Thomas is an all-arounder for the Swedish Minister of Finance. Thomas whole life circles around his job, where he has a hard time finding friends. Anna is a young, poor unemployed girl in urgent need of a home. The stuttering upper-class kid Douglas is strong-handed by his controlling father. And the failing poet Johan, who refuses to grasp his inability to write. Malin Krutmeijer of Helsingborgs Dagblad writes: “with a well-written script, Karin Fahlén delievers a, in many ways, brilliant debut”. Jan Lumholdt at Svenska Dagbladet summarizes: “The result is one of the greatest movies of the year, rich in atmosphere, detail, finesse and integrity”.

The film is not playable outside of Sweden
