Min store tjocke far
Based in Magnus Nilsson's autobiographical novel about a childhood summer, Kjell-Åke Andersson created a modern and evocative classic. Summer of 1959. 11-year old Osvald's father has, as usual, big plans for the summer, which will be spent in his aunt's farm in the countryside of Södermanland. His father has promised to play soccer with him and get some exercise. He has also promised the locals to teach an Argentine mass to the church choir. This is a slightly different portrait of the odd, alcoholic and unfaithful father and of a countryside populated by quirky characters. Rolf Lassgård won a Guldbagge for his role as Tjaffo, the father.
