The Cake General
It is 1984 and the self-confidence is broken for the people in Köping. IKEA has closed down and moved to Västerås and Jan Guillou appointed the city as Sweden's most boring city in Rekordmagazinet on tv. But one man donät take this to hard. Hasse P (played by Mikael Persbrandt) is his name and is an, on and off, alcoholic entrepreneur with a series of failed projects and broken marriages behind him. He has an idea: Fix the citys reputation with the help of a place in Guinness's record book. The local bakery will bake a half kilometer long sandwich cake, the world's longest! Fredrik Wikingsson and Filip Hammar have previously, among many others, made the acclaimed documentary Nice people together. "With the Cake General, the film duo makes a charming tribute to all those who think outside the cake box," writes Åsa Beckman on Dagens Nyheter.
