The wild pear tree
Sinan (Aydin Dogu Demirkol) dreams of becoming a published author and returns to his hometown in the countryside to raise money for the release of his novel The wild pear tree. But his father’s gaming problems forces Sinan to give all the money that he raises for his novel to pay his father's debts. Mårten Blomkvist at DN writes that this is: "A majestic film […], a powerful but demanding work that brings to mind both Anton Tjechov and Ingmar Bergman." The film has won several distinguished awards in Turkey and was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes Film Festival 2018.
