Shock room
In a famous experiment from the 1960s, psychologist Stanley Milgram examined people’s tendency to follow orders in an authoritarian situation, against their better judgment. It turned out more than half of the participants were willing to deliberately harm another person, under the pretense that the experiment couldn’t be interrupted. It became known as the Milgram experiment, and in this Australian documentary from 2015 we see several people going through different versions of the tests in order to answer the question, are we all capable of doing horrible things under the right circumstances?
