The Greenaway Alphabet
British filmmaker Peter Greenaway sets out to create a personal alphabet describing his life in collaboration with his 16-year-old daughter. Through both playful and serious conversations about life, death, creativity and creating, they determine the meaning behind the different letters. Greenaway’s partner, artist Saskia Boddeke, captures the result and creates a deeply personal portrait. Among Peter Greenaway’s most famous films are The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989), Drowning by Numbers (1988) and Nightwatching (2007). Many of his films have won or been nominated for awards at some of the largest film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin and Venice.
