Kusama - Infinity

Allowed 76 minutes 2018 7.3

In this documentary, one of the world's leading artists is highlighted. Yaoyi Kusama's work have fascinated the audience for more than six decades. With an art that constantly pushes the boundaries, she has moved between painting and sculpture, art and design, east and west. But privately, she has wrestled with countless obstacles: from the upbringing in a dysfunctional family in Japan during World War II, enduring sexism and racism in the 60s art scene to fighting mental illness. The film about her shows an inspiring and fascinating portrait of a true survivor and world-leading artist. Emma Gray Munthe writes in Aftonbladet: "You are moved by her story and her art, depressed, touched – and furious. Once again you start thinking of all the women who have disappeared from the history books, and who, unlike Kusama, never received the attention they deserved."
