The Number 23
The animal control officer Walter Sparrow receives a book as a birthday present, which proves to possess a distinctive attraction, bringing horrendous consequences. In the book's intrigue and dark murder mystery, the number 23 plays a decisive role, and Sparrow is so imprisoned that he himself becomes obsessed with this figure and the mystery of the book. Soon he is drawn into a parallel reality of horrifying fantasies in his search for answers. Patrik Andersson praises the lead role in GP and writes: "That Jim Carrey is much more than Ace Ventura's rubber face is well known, but I have never before seen him in a thriller. He's incredibly good, when the madness after a while glows in his eyes you are almost afraid for real."
