Jeannette: The Childhood of Joan of Arc
In a small town in France in 1425, 8-year-old Jeannette grows up in the midst of the Hundred Years’ War. Around her she sees the suffering that the Englishmen brings, and she determines that her divine mission is to liberate France from the advancing English troops. The award-winning director Bruno Dumont’s film Jeannette is something as unexpected as a musical epos about the origins of the most famous martyr in history, and France’s national saint Jeanne d’Arc.
