The directors Oliver Nakache and Eric Toledano have previously made the film The intouchables, for which the lead actor Omar Sy won the César award for best actor. In the directing duo’s new movie, he plays the dish boy Samba from Senegal. Samba immigrated to France ten years ago and has since then been going from job to job. Alice has a management position but has recently been burned out. Samba is willing to do anything to get a job permit, while Alice is trying to get her life back on track. Suddenly fate leads them to each other. The film is based on Delphine Coulin’s novel Samba pour la France. “It is really beautiful and moving. Samba is a mainstream film by, and for, thinking people” Jan Söderqvists writes and rates the movie 4 out of 5 in Svenska Dagbladet.
