Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché
Alice Guy-Blaché was one of the pioneers of early film history. In the late 1800s, she worked as a secretary at the company Gaumont et Cie, which produced camera parts. After attending a demonstration of a movie projection with her boss, she became fascinated by the technology and persuaded him to let her try to make a movie. Thar sparked the beginning of a long career as a filmmaker where she contributed in various ways to the creation of over 700 films. Be natural: the untold story of Alice Guy-Blaché was shown outside the competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 and was well received by the critics. Jodie Foster narrates the film.
