Hachi - A Dog's Tale

This heartwarming drama is directed by Lasse Hallström, and is an American version of a true Japanese story of a professor who finds a dog at a train station. The dog and his owner, played by Richard Gere, are soon inseparable and the dog, called Hachiko, waits faithfully every day at the train station until Gere comes home from work. When Gere passes away, the dog continues to wait for the train every day. He sleeps under a railway lorry and is taken care of by people working at or near the station.
