Black or White
When lawyer Elliot (Kevin Costner) and his wife lose their daughter during the childbirth of her own daughter, they take care of little girl Eloise. But a tragic accident leaves Elliot alone with the responsibility for the now ten-year-old Eloise. When Eloise's biological grandmother Wee-Wee (Octavia Spencer) shows up and wants to have custody of Eloise, both families must confront their own fears, prejudices and feelings. It turns out that nothing is black or white, especially when it comes to all the different relationships in both families. According to Jake Bolin at Moviezine, Kevin Costner shines in this well-played and reality-based relationship drama. AAFCA gave Octavia Spencer the award for best supporting actress for her role as Wee-Wee.
