Carla and Marco are two poets whose art is strongly influenced by their bipolar disorder. When they stop taking their medications, they end up in the same mental hospital where they meet and start a relationship. As the chemistry between two poets intensifies, their mania does as, and despite efforts to separate the two from both doctors and family, they continue into a romance that is as beautiful as it is destructive until they eventually have to choose between sanity and love.
