Amy Cole (Kristen Stewart) is a young woman who takes the US military troops in the belief that she will be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. Instead, she is stationed as a prison guard on the US military base Guantánamo Bay with tough conditions for both the prisoners of the base and the few female military workers there. Here she meets Ali a Muslim who reads the Quran and Harry Potter. Although it is forbidden, he begins to talk to Amy and their friendship becomes something that can lead to big problems for both of them. Aftonbladet Jan-Olov Andersson thinks that the story is quite predictable, but like several other critics, he highlights Kristen Stewart's and Peyman Maadi's performance.
