A trench in France, 1918. 19-year-old British lieutenant Raleigh arrives full of confidence, ready for battle. He specifically asked to be placed in the C Company since its head is an old schoolmate and family friend, Captain Stanhope, whom he always looked up to. But Raleigh is not prepared to face the human waste Stanhope turned into. Whiskey is the only thing that can dampen his self-hatred and growing anxiety after years of war, and the collapse lurks around the corner. Journey's end is based on R.C. Sheriff's play of the same name from 1928.
