Ai Weiwei - Never Sorry
Being an artist in China is one thing, but using your art and persona to criticize the Chinese regime is another. In this documentary we learn how one of China’s greatest artist expose Chinese corruption and lack of legal certainty, and to what length the government is willing to go to stop him. During her time as a journalist in China, the American Alsion Klayman had a unique access to Ai Weiei, giving us a detailed portrait with a nuanced insight into today’s China. Emma Engström at Göteborgsposten rates the film 4 out of 5 and writes: “Alison Kayman has made an honorable and engaging film that gets really close to the artist, as well as the scene built around him.”
