In 1999, Petra Epperlein's father committed suicide. Atleast according to the official story. His suicide letter is ambiguous, and after growing up in the DDR, Petra knows things are not always what they seem. By digging in the archives she tries to find out the truth about his father, his connections to Stasi, and his passing away. A deep personal documentary, which takes us on a journey to the former DDR and tells about a bygone era of state control but also raises current issues about surveillance and monitoring in a modern digital society.
