Helmut Newton: The Bad and the Beautiful

Allowed 89 minutes 2020 7.1

Helmut Newton was one of the great photographers of the 20th century. The documentary Helmut Newton: The bad and the beautiful is a fascinating in-depth dive into the artist's method and works, in which the women, who were often objects in Newton's pictures, speak out about him and his art. The film features candid interviews with Charlotte Rampling, Grace Jones, Isabella Rossellini, and Anna Wintour, among others, who all worked with Helmut Newton during his long career in Paris and Los Angeles. Helmut Newton's career was full of both praise and controversy and ended tragically when he died in a car accident outside the Chateau Marmont Hotel in 2004.
