The movie is based on the real story of Genesis Potini, an outstanding New Zealander chess player who suffered from a serious bipolar disorder. By sharing his chess skills, he takes over as a coach of a chess team and helps the youngsters in the team to stay away from crime.
The movie has been called "one of New Zealand's best movies ever", is based on a true story and won the audience award at the Rotterdam Film Festival 2015.
