The Last Family

15 yrs 124 minutes 2016 7.4

A price-winning Polish drama that is mostly based on the life of the artist Zdzislaw Beksinsky. We find ourselfes in a small apartment in Warsaw during the 1970s, where the artist lives with his wife Zofia and their two mothers. In an even smaller apartment, a few houses further away, their neurotic and unhappy son Tomasz is set to move in. In his review for Kulturnyheterna, Fredrik Sahlin writes: "But despite all the hardships, conflicts and deaths that occurs during these two hours, it is paradoxically a quite uplifting film. This collection of people, especially the father and son, is so emotionally disturbed and, above all, unconventional that they become an exciting company”. A film about a family where almost everyone can recognize something from their own family.
