150 Milligrams

15 yrs 128 minutes 2016 6.6

When the French doctor Irène Frachon released her book Mediator 150 mg, the entire French pharmaceutical industry was shaken from the ground. The government agency responsible for pharmaceutical drugs was replaced and all because of the revelations of Frachon. 150 Milligrams is the story of how ignorance, corruption and greed could keep a drug that caused up to 1800 death on the market. But it is also a story about the great courage it takes to go against an entire organization. Annika Gustafsson at Sydsvenskan rates the film 4 out of 5 and states that it’s a “thrilling story that is not only excellently played even down to the supporting roles, but also well-written, dramatically dense, even though many scenes are primarily based on dialogue”. She concludes: “This is as inspiring as it gets.”
