Julieta
Julieta is a gold-palm nominated film by Pedro Almódovar based on a story by Nobel laureate Alice Munro. Julieta lives in Madrid with her daughter Antía. Both of them suffer in silence since Juliet's husband and Antia's father died at sea. But sometimes grieving does not bring people closer to each other, but further apart. When Antia turns eighteen she leaves her mother without explanation. Julieta is looking for her in every way she can, but soon realizes how little she actually knows about her daughter. This is the story of a mother's fight against uncertainty. But also about fate, of guilt and what complex but incredibly mysterious thing is that can make us abandon the people we actually love.
