23-year-old Delphine is tired of the restricted life of the parents' farmhouse and goes to Paris. Everything is new and exciting and everything is suddenly possible. She meets Carole who takes her into the budding feminist movement. Carole is independent and fearless and they begin a joyful and liberating love story. When Delphine's dad has a stroke, she is forced back home. Carole follows, but back in the countryside Delphine does not dare to show her love.
