Knock
In 1950s France, a smalltime hustler named Knock has incurred huge gaming debts and is now on the run from the mafia. He escapes on a boat where he is tasked with treating the sick and decides he wants to become a doctor. After he gets his degree, he becomes the doctor of the small village of Saint-Maurice. There he discovers that if he suggests to the villagers that they may be a little sicker than they first thought, his clinic will be much more lucrative. Everything is going as planned, but soon Knock starts to get more and more attached to the village and its inhabitants, especially one of the young women at a nearby farm. Suddenly, an acquaintance from his old life appears and threatens to destroy the new life he has built up. In the lead role we see Omar Sy, who broke internationally in the acclaimed feel-good film Intouchables and also starred in Jurassic World and Chocolat.
