My Life as a Zucchini

Allowed 66 minutes 2016 7.8

The little boy’s real name is something else, but his mother has always called him Zucchini. When his mother suddenly dies, Zucchini is placed at an orphanage where he at first struggles to fit in and feels lonely and abandoned. But soon he gets to know the other children. They all have different gloomy stories, but together they find warmth and friendship. Fredrik Sahlin at SVT Kultur writes that the film is “charming, entertaining and at the same time severe drama for both children and accompanying adults”. The film is freely based on the French novel Autobiographie d’une courgette by Gilles Paris and was nominated at the Oscars for Best Animated Feature.
