Searching For Ingmar Bergman

With her documentary, director Margarethe von Trotta Bergman wants to see how Ingmar Bergman's work is and still influence new generations of filmmakers. Through interviews with employees of Bergman and contemporary directors, she builds up a picture of how Bergman's work has been used as inspiration. We meet, for example. Liv Ullman, Ruben Östlund and Oliver Assayas. The documentary takes us to places which are the center of his creative work, such as the island Fårö. She also portrays both key scenes and recurring themes in Bergman's films and life. Nominated for the Golden Eye at Cannes Film Festival 2018.
