Vincent has just returned to France after serving in an elite troop in Afghanistan. He is strongly affected by his time in service and suffers from post-traumatic stress. When he accepts a position as bodyguard to the wife and child of a wealthy Lebenese businessman, his paranoia grows stronger. But is it really paranoia or is there a real threat to his clients? Maryland was nominated for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2015 and was also nominated for a bronze horse at the Stockholm Film Festival that same year. Director Alice Winocour, who wrote the script, has previously written the script for the Oscar nominated drama Mustang.
