D'Ardennen

15 yrs 96 minutes 2015 6.7

His silence protected them for four years but now it's time for payback. An attempted burglary goes very wrong, and Dave, one of the burglers, gets away, but his brother Kenny is caught. Four years later, Kenny is released from prison and wants nothing more than to continue his life with his girlfriend Sylvie and the family. The years in prison have stood still for Kenny, but not for the people outside. Both Dave and Sylvie have left their wild years behind and have adapted to everyday life and society. Something Kenny has a hard time accepting. Robin Pront's feature film debut is brutally touching with oppressed anger and betrayal between siblings in a film that has been described as a modern Cain-and-Abel story. Göteborgsposten's Mats Johnson thinks that "Ardennerna is lead-heavy realism from a dirt grey city somewhere in Belgium [...] consistently accomplished and skillfully acted."

The film is not playable outside of Sweden
