Patrik, age 1,5

Allowed 98 minutes 2008 6.9

In Emma Lemhagens new film Patrik 1.5, we get to know Göran and Sven, a couple who live an ordinary marriage life in a small and boring neighborhood. Finally, they have been approved for adoption, but the problem is that there are no countries that accept gay parents. But then an opportunity shows up – they can adopt a Swedish 1.5-year-old boy named Patrik. When Patrik arrives, it turns out that Patrik isn’t who the couple thought. A comma has been wrongfully placed in the bureaucracy and a fifteen-year-old homophobic with a criminal past is standing in front of them. That’s the start of this film which opens up for a discussion regarding prejudices.
