Sur le chemin de l'école
They live on four different corners of the world but share an enormous thirst for knowledge. They know that education and knowledge are crucial to their future, and maybe even to their survival. The director Pascale Plisson follows four children, 11-year old Jackson in Kenya, 12-year old Zahira in Morocco, 11-year-old Carlito in Patagonia and 13-year-old Samuel in Bengal, on their staggering road to the classroom. By taking the step into the real world, they also leave their childhood behind and their lives will never be the same again. Janette Gentele at SvD rates the film 5 out of 6 and writes: “On the Way to School is a tribute to the human ability to overcome all difficulties in reaching one’s goal, in this case gaining knowledge”.
