Tuntematon sotilas
Väinö Linna’s anti-war novel Unknown soldier from 1954 is a realistic and moving portrayal of a machine gun platoon in battle during the Finnish Continuation War in 1941-44. It tells the story of the daily life of war from the perspective of the soldiers and has become one of Finland’s most read books. This filmization depicts both heroism and strong companionship, but propagates also, as the book, against the insanity of war and for peace. The film is today seen, together with the first filmization in 1955, as one of the great classic war movies.
The film is not playable outside of Sweden
