Moa - en kvinnas kärlek och längtan

11 yrs 100 minutes 1986 5.7

Moa - en kvinnas kärlek och längtan freely depicts the dramatic life of popular writer Moa Martinson. Eighteen years old, Moa is married to the stone worker Karl and soon has five children. The marriage is stormy and beset by tragedies. In these adversities, Moa shows her strength - she begins to write her life. She tells truths, sometimes unpleasant, and does not get much understanding. Her life changes as her books are released in ever-increasing editions. Soon she can lift herself out of poverty, but she never forgets her roots. Dagens Nyheter's Mauritz Edström thought: "Gunilla Nyroos is extraordinary in the role of Moa. I can hardly imagine that any other actress than she could at the same time embody all of the things in the portrait: The sensual power of nature, the lost searching, the helplessness and ability, willpower and impulsiveness."
