In Kommunalarbetaren, Linnea Östlund finds that "this is no bloody film, but calm and realistic, the camera sneaks around corners and doorways. And that's what's scary. What is scary moves slowly, slowly straight towards you ... ". In Expressen, Maria Brander writes: "It follows has a cleverly designed story that makes the audience recognize the danger even before it's there, but is also neatly filmed, and includes a credible, well-played and sympathetic teenage gang. As a whole, it is a rare qualitative little horror diamond with a mood that wiggles all the way inside you."
