A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

15 yrs 101 minutes 2014 6.9

The horror movie A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night takes place in in Bad City, an Iranian ghost town where prostitutes, dancers, pimps and other lost souls roam around. The film is poetic and low in pace, the music and the environment give the film a suggestive mood rather than a traditional horror feel. The main character is a female vampire wandering around the night, as a feminist avenger in chador, she is a supplement to the vampire genre. The film is marketed as an "Iranian vampire western", but all involved are Americans, albeit with Iranian roots, and the film is recorded in California. Daniel Brännlund in Umeå tidning rates the film of 4 out of 5, and writes "The feature film debuting director Ana Lily Amirpour’s (remember her name) feminist and black and white vampire drama is a visual feast so painfully beautiful that you just sit there with your mouth open."

The film is not playable outside of Sweden
