Jon Banks is a young, ambitious psychiatrist looking for an opportunity to show himself capable in his new workplace. When the new patient Emily comes to him for help after an attempted suicide, Banks tries with every previously proven antidepressant drug, but to no avail. When he as a last resort prescribes the new poorly tested drug Ablixia, Emily finally finds some peace. She is happy, filled with energy and passionate in love with her husband Martin. Then, one night, Martin is brutally stabbed to death with a knife. The police find Emily with the murder weapon in her hands, but with no memory of what has happened. With Banks’ reputation already in ruins, he decides to find the truth. Michael Tapper awards the film the highest rating in Sydsvenskan, and writes: “Unlike the recent mass production of laughable banal and narratively boring cop movies and thrillers, it’s a movie where every element of the story has a thoughtful artistic function, even in the use of music and sounds. This is a movie for adults, claiming ambitious entertainment that doesn’t always give the audience what it wants, a trait all too rare in today’s cinematic environment.”
