The Killing of a Sacred Deer
On the surface, Steven (Colin Farrell, The lobster, Horrible bosses) seems to have everything you could wish for. The family consists of the two children Kim and Bob and his wife Anna (Nicole Kidman, Rabbit hole, Big Little Lies), and professionally he is a successful surgeon. But something isn’t quite right. "The movie is neither evil nor good, beautiful or ugly. Still, in some way, each picture is new. Lanthimos has a laconic way of telling things, but isn’t boasting about it", Kerstin Gezelius writes in Dagens Nyheter, rating the film, which was awarded the prize for best writing at Cannes Film Festival, the highest rating.
