Alejandra lives in a small town in Mexico with her husband Angel and their two children. Their relationship is in decline and money is sorely lacking. When Alejandre's son gets an allergic reaction, they go to the hospital where her brother works. There the mysterious and exhausted Veronica shows up and everyone's lives are put at stake. Veronica convinces them that in a cabin in the middle of the forest there is something extraordinary that can solve all problems. Something that has to be satisfied without question and which does not accept adversity. Sydsvenskan's Malin Krutmeijer thinks that the horror movie, which won the Silver lion at the Venice Film Festival, is "so cleverly done that you can just lean back and enjoy the ride" and that "this is an entertaining, nerve-tingling pice of art with a long aftertaste."
