In The Name of My Daughter
Nice, 1976. Agnès Le Roux, daughter of Renée le Roux, owner of the Palais de la Méditerranée casino, falls in love with Maurice Agnelet, a handsome senior lawyer. The relationship with her mother is bad because Renée does not want to let Agnès get a share of her father's inheritance because the casino is not doing well. It turns out that Maurice is not only charming, he is also smart and helps her to design a plan to take over the casino and sell it to get her money. This betrayal takes her mother hard and she does not want to see her. At the same time Maurice begins to think Agnès is too needy and demanding. When she then disappears, Renée is sure Maurice is involved. Especially when it is discovered that he had access to her daughter's money. She begins a twenty-year fight to bring a trial against the supposed conman. French riviera is based on a true story of what happened during the so-called "casino wars" on the Riviera and has veteran Catherine Deneuve in the role of Renée.
