Serial Killer 1
The exciting French thriller Serial Killer 1 is based on the real pursuit of a serial killer in Paris in the 1990s. In January 1991, the police found a 19-year-old woman raped and murdered. Even though a large group of police officers is involved in the case, no clues are found. Three years later, the murderer struck again. The approach suggests that it’s the same offender and when another woman falls victim in November of the same year, they know they’re looking for a serial killer. The young police inspector Franck Magne is the first to see a connection and he is obsessed with capturing the murderer. The pursuit of the serial killer, dubbed The Beast of the Bastille, lasted until 1998 and was the largest in France's history with hundreds of policemen involved. In 2001, Guy Georges was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. The book Guy Georges: La traque by Patricia Touranceau lies as a basis for the film.
